Buttons, Doodahs & Wotnots
Inside Buttons, Doodahs and Wotnots you will find a treasure chest of poetry written by an up and coming young and passionate writer who possesses an aptitude for delight and the courage to be true to her convictions.
Francesca Thorscott’s first book gives the reader an insight into her sense of humour and quirkiness with such poems as “Twas the Plight Before Christmas” and “Did You Know”. She showcases her emotional viewpoint of situations and hidden moral with a poem such as “The Ice Castle”, also a sense of pride, tradition and sentiment within her “Wartime Words” poem and similar works. Through her words, you will discover how Francesca has written every piece with careful consideration, enjoyment and passion.
There have been many giggles, surprises and genuine moments of awe, wonderment and pride at home when Francesca reads her latest crafted poem to her family. Francesca had no idea Buttons, Doodahs and Wotnots was being published. It was a Christmas surprise for her as she works so hard with everything she does and accomplishes so much at her young age. Her shock and surprise was evident and tears of joy and disbelief flowed down her cheeks. When she finally finished shaking and was able to breathe steadily once again, the reality of her first book being published dawned on her and the journey began. Francesca has had her heart set on writing since the age of 4 years. She has never waivered from that choice and Buttons, Doodahs and Wotnots is a showcase that dreams can come true with dedication, determination, belief and perhaps a sprinkling of fairy dust!
Buttons, Doodahs and Wotnots promises to be the first step in her career journey and although as a young poet, Francesca writes mainly for pleasure, she hopes to encourage, enthuse and inspire others through her own love of poetry and word craft.
